First, I am giving this item five stars for the simple fact that the Progressive International Stainless Steel 3-Quart Colander is very high quality and solid.Second, it should be noted that I returned this item due to the size.If a 3-quart colander will work for you, I would highly recommend this item.I simply underestimated the impact the size would have.It just wasn't going to be big enough for my uses.The handles are very firm and solid.The stainless steel finish is great.I found the thickness of colander itself to be very high end.All in all, I found the quality to be par none and excellent for the price range.

Norpro V Slicer Grater, Mandolin Review

First, the Norpro is %100 compatible with the Bron, including the Bron's replacement blades (available in a wide variety of sizes, though not at amazon--yet).
Safety: First, if you haven't put in at least a hundred hours on a mandoline, be sure to use protection.No, not that ...worthless/dangerous pusher.Use a butcher's glove (or "oyster glove"), preferably a chain mail one.You could get by with significantly more affordable Kevlar or "Fibers Woven with Stainless Steel Threading" ones, but you will be more prone to bruising and nicks.Second, keep your eye on the blade, not on the vegetable.Third, use smooth, swift strokes applying as much pressure toward the mandoline's face as you do on the stroke itself.Last, and most importantly- don't rush!Take your time, maintain your focus, zone out that burning smell coming from the oven.
The mandoline produces narrow shallow decorative crinkles.While waffle cut vegetables are quite possible with this sturdy industry standard, it takes a lot of adjusting and they come out thin without good definition of holes.For a better waffle cut consider a stand alone crinkle cutter.The washboard style ones typically aren't adjustable, so I'd recommend a hand held crinkle blade (look for deeper/wider scallops).
To produce uniform slices, you can either move the julienne blades to neutral or remove the blades completely.The first method often produces slices with nicks on them from where the slices catch on the hanging julienne blades.The second method is time consuming and may lead to eventually stripping out the nuts (so be careful not to over tighten).
This is a time saving and indispensable tool once you get accustomed to it.It could use more documentation.

This thing is wonderful! Holds up to the biggest lid without any problems. Cleans up great - I've even ran it through the dishwasher a few times.

Magic Chef 1100 watt Microwave MCD1611ST Review

We needed to replace our SS Samsung microwave after 6 faithful years. Wanted a big SS micro without too many unnecessary buttons, this fit the bill! Bought at HD for 119.00 + tax which was a better deal(about $7) than the $35.00 shipping charged by Amazon, plus we needed it now. This microwave is large, sturdy, and powerful. If you have children the pull handle in my opinion is better because you do not get little finger smudges. It has all the little things, add/deduct time, popcorn time, and defrost. Magic Chef 1.3cf 1000W S-Steel Microwave ( MCD1311ST ) Review

We've had ours less than two years and it's already stopped working.Last night it started smelling like plastic parts were burning when we were cooking in it.Before that it would turn off randomly.Power supply was fine, it was the microwave itself.Called their customer service to find out what options existed and the rep I got (after 20 minutes and a transfer) was extremely rude, answered with a monotone and said there was nothing they could do.It literally felt like I was interrupting her from painting her nails or something, that same kind of blase tone.The combination of the short life span of their product and their obvious lack of concern from their customer service guarantees I won't buy another Magic Chef product.

I bought this product from a retail store (thank goodness). The 1st microwave stopped working within a month; I took it back and the retail store exchanged it for a new one off of the shelf. Emerson .9 cu. ft. Microwave - Stainless Steel/ Black Review

I purchased this microwave three years ago. Its exellent as far as the power output & not having to wait two or four whole minutes for leftovers to warm or to knock the chill off a dinner that got cold too fast. Compared to my new Emerson microwave I purchased three weeks ago (that was allegedly 1100 wats but warms food like it was 110) this model warms your food faster & thuroughly. My complaint is that this is model needs a better handle. If you are not careful & dont take care to pull the door open by the middle part of the handle it will snap off! I had gotten a replacement from target because this happened after having it a little under a month. I got a different model. True it dont push enough power but at least the handle is not so thin & made of cheap plastic. What use is a microwave if the handle breaks off and the handle is the ONLY way to open it(it has no square button to pop the door open!) Overall if you are in desperate need for a microwave ASAP then this will do for the time being but get it from Target, they sold this for 49.99! At least if the handle breaks clean off like mine did you wont be so pissed you paid over $100 for it. They made this mostly for the fancy sleek look of it but they ignored the possibility of the hadle not holding up.

We recently purchased this item because our 10 year old microwave was on its last legs. I liked this model because it hadgrilling possibilites shown on the carton. Major concern after we brought it home---no instructions on how to use the grill in the users manual . Customer service only available from 8am to 4:30pm Mon to Fri. It's not cheap, but it's gooood.Whether you need to drain pasta or filter out the mind control rays from the orbital satellites, this one'll do the job for a long time.Very solid.A little bit heavy, but that's the tradeoff--sure, you can get lighter (and wimpier) colanders, but why run the risk of having your mind being subverted by the CIA because they jack up the power a bit?
Seriously, it's a very good colander.You'll never need another one.The handles are welded on so there's no rivets to fall out, and it's about the right size for the typical pasta mess.Enjoy.
