Westinghouse WST3501 0.7 Microwave Oven Review

I don't want to be too harsh on this product; I got it for Christmas in 2005 to replace a 20+ year old Sharp Carousel Microwave. My Westinghouse Microwave still works, and hasn't given me any problems. It was purchased extremely cheaply from JC Penny, and my Mom doubled a coupon and a credit card discount to get it for even less.

Even so, my two main complaints about this product are the small amount of rust that has developed inside the microwave in the corners and under the rotating glass tray, and the inability of the clock to correctly calculate time. I do use the timer almost daily for my oven, and it's accurate for a countdown of microwaving food. But the time will only stay correct for a few hours, and slowly and steadily start falling behind actual time by minutes and eventually hours. Also, after about six months of use, it started making a high pitched humming sound whenever used. I have seen this microwave sold at Rite-Aid so it obviously is a very cheap impulse buy microwave without any regard to long term quality of the unit.

All that said, I still use mine daily and it hasn't let me down after three years. I do like the defrost feature, and the fact that I can use it as a timer for my oven. I would recommend Sharp brand over Westinghouse for microwaves, they seem to last the longest and can stand the test of time.

Emerson Stainless Steel 700 Watts Microwave Oven Model MW8781SB BLACK Review

I bought this product from a retail store (thank goodness). The 1st microwave stopped working within a month; I took it back and the retail store exchanged it for a new one off of the shelf. Unfortunately, the day the warranty wore off the thing broke. It looked like it was working, but it wasn't cooking anything.

I bought it because it was cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. :(

The interior light doesn't come on when the door is opened. Only when it's turned on. Other than that what you see is what you get.

Sharp R-520KS 2-Cubic-Foot 1200-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel Review

This is my 4th Sharp microwave and I'm really happy with this oven. Like others have said, it is loud, but with 1200 watts that really should be expected. It's fast, plenty big, looks great, and easy to clean. One concern is in the door button. This is a stainless steel microwave but the button that opens the door is made of very cheap plastic. It's not been a problem for our family of 2, but a family with more people opening and closing the microwave might want to pay particular attention to how flimsy it is. All in all, though, I certainly recommend this product.

We reciever this microwave quickly.My microwave died after 35 yrs. and I was so happy it arrived fast.It is easy to operate and the instructions are very easy to follow.I really like all the features and the pre-set settings are very accurate.The 4 defrost settings are a real treat to me.The demenions are accurate but I didn't realize the wall plug was large so this microwave sticks out 2 inches more in front beyond my shelf edge.My old microwave's plug laid flat against the wall.I am getting use to this and it in no way affects the performance of the product.If I had known it would take up another 2 inches in deepth beyond the listed deminsions I would have purchased a smaller unit so it would fit my space better.

I purchased this microwave as an addition to my dorm room. I would have liked a high-powered microwave, but restraints on space and money stopped me. For the price and for the size, this microwave works rather well. There are some extra functions, but I just use the regular microwaving. The only thing that I do not like about the microwave is that its internal rotating dish is not very stable, and is prone to shifting off its base with even a slightly unbalanced load.
