Westinghouse WST3501 0.7 Microwave Oven Review

I don't want to be too harsh on this product; I got it for Christmas in 2005 to replace a 20+ year old Sharp Carousel Microwave. My Westinghouse Microwave still works, and hasn't given me any problems. It was purchased extremely cheaply from JC Penny, and my Mom doubled a coupon and a credit card discount to get it for even less.

Even so, my two main complaints about this product are the small amount of rust that has developed inside the microwave in the corners and under the rotating glass tray, and the inability of the clock to correctly calculate time. I do use the timer almost daily for my oven, and it's accurate for a countdown of microwaving food. But the time will only stay correct for a few hours, and slowly and steadily start falling behind actual time by minutes and eventually hours. Also, after about six months of use, it started making a high pitched humming sound whenever used. I have seen this microwave sold at Rite-Aid so it obviously is a very cheap impulse buy microwave without any regard to long term quality of the unit.

All that said, I still use mine daily and it hasn't let me down after three years. I do like the defrost feature, and the fact that I can use it as a timer for my oven. I would recommend Sharp brand over Westinghouse for microwaves, they seem to last the longest and can stand the test of time.

Microwave Oven With Manual Dials 0.7 Cubic Ft Review

I purchased this for my office and am disappointed in the overall performance of this microwave.

The microwave is not level. It wobbles regardless of what surface I place it on.

The dials make it difficult to judge the timing.The power is poor and, even at the highest setting, heats food slowly.

Even if this microwave was under $30....I would not recommend it to anyone.

Emerson Stainless Steel 700 Watts Microwave Oven Model MW8781SB BLACK Review

I bought this product from a retail store (thank goodness). The 1st microwave stopped working within a month; I took it back and the retail store exchanged it for a new one off of the shelf. Unfortunately, the day the warranty wore off the thing broke. It looked like it was working, but it wasn't cooking anything.

Emerson .9 cu. ft. Microwave - Stainless Steel/ Black Review

I purchased this microwave three years ago. Its exellent as far as the power output & not having to wait two or four whole minutes for leftovers to warm or to knock the chill off a dinner that got cold too fast. Compared to my new Emerson microwave I purchased three weeks ago (that was allegedly 1100 wats but warms food like it was 110) this model warms your food faster & thuroughly. My complaint is that this is model needs a better handle. If you are not careful & dont take care to pull the door open by the middle part of the handle it will snap off! I had gotten a replacement from target because this happened after having it a little under a month. I got a different model. True it dont push enough power but at least the handle is not so thin & made of cheap plastic. What use is a microwave if the handle breaks off and the handle is the ONLY way to open it(it has no square button to pop the door open!) Overall if you are in desperate need for a microwave ASAP then this will do for the time being but get it from Target, they sold this for 49.99! At least if the handle breaks clean off like mine did you wont be so pissed you paid over $100 for it. They made this mostly for the fancy sleek look of it but they ignored the possibility of the hadle not holding up.

Sharp R-55TS Warm & Toasty Toaster/Microwave Review

Read these reviews carefully. The unhappy people are the people who bought this appliance without understanding what it is.

1) It's a small, low-power microwave. Small, low-powered microwaves don't do popcorn very well and some things just don't fit in there.

2) It's a large toaster oven, which means the elements are somewhat removed from the toast. If you want quick toast, get a toaster, where the elements are often less than an inch from the bread. But if you want to toast all sorts of lumpy things, including three or four slices of bread at a time, this'll do it. Typically, mine takes 4 1/2 minutes to toast regular bread.

3) It's a small oven. The oven works well, although again, it's small (see #1). Don't plan on cooking the Thanksgiving turkey in there.

If you understand these things, you'll like this appliance. I sure like mine. It's perfect for a bachelor!

We recently purchased this item because our 10 year old microwave was on its last legs. I liked this model because it hadgrilling possibilites shown on the carton. Major concern after we brought it home---no instructions on how to use the grill in the users manual . Customer service only available from 8am to 4:30pm Mon to Fri. Emerson Microwave Oven Touch Control Black Review

Our last microwave was Emerson. Travis wanted something new, so he purchased "Sharp R-216LS Compact Size 0.8 Cu-Foot Microwave, Stainless Steel" (as well as "Nordic Ware 11-Inch Microwave Plate Cover"). The Sharp microwave was broken when it arrived and we were like ok, no more sharp. Returned it (UPS picked up), got a full refund and I went for this one though it didn't really call out to me. But see, this is Emerson, the company that made our old microwave that lasted for about ****3 years**** (till the buttons stopped working), and another reason I decided to get this is that the design reminded me of the microwave they use at the Japanese deli (Diamobu Japanese Deli Grocery 129 East 47th Street New York, NY 10017-2026 (212) 755-7380) and cafe (Cafe Zaiya [...] 18 East 41st Street New York, NY 10017-6395 (212) 779-0600 and one also on the second floor of Kinokuniya Bookstore [...] 1073 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10018 (212) 869-1700 but I forget if they even let you warm up your own food coz they have crazy good free table service lol). Well, we actually like the looks of it (this picture here is just not very flattering, I think) and it works great too. hope this review helped. ;)

Whirlpool : 0.7 Cu. Ft. Nonsensor Microwave Oven Review

If it weren't for one little tiny sticking point I would have given this five stars.It's about the smallest usable microwave you can buy.I have a small space for my microwave so I needed one that would fit, this is one of about three options in this size.I love it's cooking options, particularly the popcorn one and the defrost settings.This is the first microwave I've ever used where the popcorn function REALLY WORKS and there are only a dozen or so unpopped kernals left in the bag!

This microwave is a huge improvement over the 13 year old machine this one replaced.I do miss having a timer only function; my old machine spoiled me.The one and only issue I've run into so far is the control pad; it's not very touch friendly.I literally have to punch the buttons to get the function I want.I sometimes have to take a couple stabs at it.The control pad needs to be a little more touch sensitive and they'd have a five star machine here.
