Tupperware Crystalwave Divided Dish in Cosmos Review

This is the size of a large dinner plate. I am looking for something that I can send with a toddler to day care. This was way to big. However it is still a nice plate. The only down side is that the dividers don't come up to the same height as the lid so if it tips everything will mix together. But all in all it looks decient enough.

VENTED MICRO WARMER Review

The shipment of the containers was prompt and a problem with a couple cracked lids in shipment were dealt with promptly and I appreciated that. The problem with the containers themselves is that the lids to do not snap on and stay on tight. Even with the slightest movement, they dislodged and slide off. Would be a much better product if the lids went on and stayed on tightly.

MINI BASTING BRUSH Review

I purchased two of these little brushes and they have been an invaluable addition to my kitchen arsenal!

I love the small size for kitchen jobs because a larger one would be cumbersome and clumsy for me.They are easy to clean and seem quite durable.I have been using mine for probably a year now and they look just like brand new still.

We had a ceramic butter dish that broke and I had searched every where for a replacement.This is a very nice replacement for the broken one.The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because the handle on the lid is a little small and makes it a little harder to get it off.We love butter on toasst in the morning and butter from the fridge is to hard to spread.We leave this dish filled with butter on the counter and it keeps it soft and fresh.I am very happy with this product.

High Heat Resistant Nylon Fork 14"/35cm Review

I have several nylon forks I use for cooking.I like them because they are relatively safe for non-stick cookware, and are flexible.They don't damage the coating.I was looking for more and could not find them in any store.

Then I found this one at Amazon, but the Amazon description is kind of sketchy, it doesn't give a whole lot of information.Checking the manufacturer's website (Norpro) I found that this a "HIGH HEAT NYLON FORK" 14" long.High heat resistant to 450F.That's about all the manufacturer's website says.

The fork is dark gray/black.It is fairly rigid, not as flexible as I'd have liked.So I reserve its use for a fork that requires its rigidity.Since it's heat resistant to 450F, it's good for use in boiling liquids, too.If you're not looking for flexibility, then this an OK product for you.

Horse Travel Mug Review

This is an absolutely beautiful mug, and drinking from cermic is so much nicer then plastic or stainless steel. The only thing I am not happy with is that when purchasing the mug nowhere does it state that the mug is "Made in China". Considering the lead and anti-freeze issues we have had with China's products, who knows what is in the paint or glaze. I no longer feel comfortable drinking from it. Unfortunately, it now sits in my curio cabinet as nothing more then a show piece.

Koolatron Z0100U Total Chef Oven Review

I got hooked on the American Harvest Jet Stream oven years and years ago.That oven has to be the best way to cook frozen chicken fingers,french fries, hot dogs, etc. in the world.I have owned several and had good success.
The latest one I got was from Sams Club about 4 years ago.It was a new issue (back by popular demand) that had a digital readout, timer and temp controls. About six months ago this oven finally fell apart. To be more specific the electronics just basically would not start the oven anymore.
Just like Homer I started "The Odyssey" the quest to buy the new air oven.Believe it or not I applied for the new Amazon Credit card just for the $30 discount to buy my new oven.
At the time Amazon was out of the new Nesco (wiz bang) version of my favorite healthy fast food appliance JS-4000T.There was a "new" older model of the Jet Stream for 39.95 and this strange knock off Koolatron oven.If you know me you (and yes my friends do laugh at the way I think.) I ended up buying both the new Koolatron and the old-new Jetstream ovens.
Both ovens arrived (gotta love Amazon for it's out standing customer service and delivery quality) and I decided to use the Jet Stream first.Everything was there and the oven seemed 100% new, yet I thought it must have sat on a pallet for like 8 years waiting for a buyer.After only a few uses I heard strange grinding sounds (from the internal belt?)and the smell of ozone from the oven.Shortly after about 10 uses the plastic nob on the top more or less stripped.I contacted amazon and Duh... figured out that I didnt buy the oven from Amazon but from some 3rd party place.Oh Joy!I put that on the side and just wrote that whole thing off.$40 wasn't worth the hassle of getting another old junk oven and then fight for my money back... I opened up the Koolatron.
This is a strange oven.The external temp guage was missing but no big thing.It came with a whole lot of strange looking stuff.. a huge needle thing to "inject" flavor?? into meat, rods and a wire stand (that makes no sense whatsoever)to hold up the lid after cooking.
The Koolatron design takes up a WHOLE LOT of room on your counter.The Jet Stream goes on its side and actually hides very well.I got the Koolatron all setup and then ... it was DOA.A quick email and Amazon sent out another one.I then packed up the old and used the return tag to get rid of the dead one.(Love Amazon)
Well... the Koolatron has a thermastat that won't let things get over heated.I setup my normal chicken fingers and started to cook.What would normally take 8-9 minutes in the Jet Stream took 25 in the Koolatron.The chicken was not evenly cooked from piece to piece.The other day I tried frozen onion rings and exactly the same thing happened.One ring was soggy the other hard as a rock.It is pretty clear that the Koolatron does NOT get hot ENOUGH nor does the fan BLOW as hard as the Jet Stream.Very very sad as with the exception of the size on my counter, this oven looked like it beat many of the Jet Stream problems.
Long story short the Koolatron does not even come close to cooking as well as the Jet Stream does.Save your money. Actually I think it cooks "strange" as if favors some pieces andavoids others?Hidden AI?
Yes my wife is going to kill me but I am going to buy ANOTHER JetStream (the JS-4000T oven and start again.
If you are a Jet Stream Junkie like I am... the Koolatron is NOT the replacement we have been waiting for.Save your money and go with the orginal.

Deion Sanders Hot Dog Express Review

Deion Sanders' Hot Dog Express is an obvious attempt to exploit the wild success of George Foreman's grills, however Deion was not savvy enough to work with a high-quality manufacturer like Salton to manufacture his product.The Hot Dog Express is an OK quality product, but handling it gives hints that it will not last as long as a George Foreman grill does.

That being said, it did cook some very tasty hot dogs.It has the rollers like a professional hot dog stand, and takes about 14 minutes to cook eight hot dogs.I used Oscar Meyer beef dogs and they tasted better than any boiled hot dog ever could.The buns warmed on the cover as the dogs cooked.

The only obvious quality problem was the timer dial.It is marked for the length of time you want the cooker to run.I set mine for 14 min, but found that it stopped at the three minute mark and had no alarm bell to indicate the completion of cooking.To compensate, I have to set mine to 17 min, and keep my eye on the clock.This may be a manufacturing problem only with my unit, but is only mildly irritating.I tend to keep an eye on cookers when they are running anyway, for safety reasons.

The unit cleans up easily, as they state.The rollers and the "oil collection tray" both come out of the cooker for easy cleaning in the sink.

Overall, I do recommend this product because it cooks a very good hot dog.It will serve some heavy duty time on my patio this summer.

Progressive International Nesting Tongs Review

Several sets were purchased to serve hors d'oeuvres at our son's wedding reception. When we saw how nice they looked and how well the tongs worked, we ordered a couple of more sets in quickly before the date. The green color coordinated well with the vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, etc. We actually received compliments on the tongs! When not in use, they nest together very nicely. The bride took several sets home; and I kept the rest for future use. Loved the tongs, and highly recommend them if you want something other than clear plastic or metal tongs. MILKSHAKE STRAWS Review

These straws are big by any standard and as manly-man straws they have the pipe capacity to suck a quart drink dry in less than 30 seconds flat. They'd be perfect for serious man-straws if they weren't in silly daffodil colors. You can get away with the blue and green, but they need to lose the pink.

Taylor 8790 Temprite Reusable Food Thermometers Review

I don't remember the packaging or what it looked like or what it said, but after using them for a few times and cooking your food right, it is clear that it is supposed to turn bright red. Anything less and you haven't cooked it enough. The steak one has three different readings, the first part turns red quickly and it is for rare, the middle part turns red a little more slowly and it is for medium and the tip takes the longest and is for well done. AWESOME!

These things are amazing. We bought them b/c they were cheap and at Target one day 3 or 4 years ago and we can't live without them. They have NEVER been wrong. I wish there was a pork one, but we just use the steak one to see if some of it turns red and we know it is cooked but won't be dry. after 3 or 4 years of use they are still going strong. Our chicken one is starting to bite the dust and I was depressed I couldn't find these ANYWHERE! I found them here and will be buying several packs to stock up for the future.

These are for those of us who don't know what temp. to look for on the thermometer or you don't wanna wait for it to register. You poke it in, make sure it isn't touching bone, I always waited a second and then BE READY, you look at it AS it comes out of the food and if it is bright red it's ready! They do change quickly back to the original color, so be ready and have ample lighting around where you are so you can be sure... these things have saved us from MANY MANY raw meals. My husband used to be the WORST at under cooking because he was scared to over cook things. Now that we have these every meal is spot on!I HIGHLY recommend these to ANYONE!

I recently bought and used this cleaner and was really impressed with how well it did.It's a concentrate, so once it's diluted, the price is very inexpensive.I was surprised at how many different jobs it did around the house! Krona 12-Quart Stock Pot with Lid Review

Progressive International Straw Dispenser Review

I delayed purchasing this for months, waiting for the price to come down.It never did.I didn't like spending $15 for this, but it really does look great and work very well.The dispenser came in its own box (in addition to the Amazon shipping box), and inside the box the dispenser was wrapped in plastic.It was wrapped so well that I even decided to use the straws that came with it, which I had intended on throwing away due to my previous experiences with dirty kitchenware from Amazon.

The dispenser does hold 100 straws, but 75 fit and fan out a little better.When the lid is lifted, the straws lift up and fan out, just like old-fashioned glass dispensers, and then they return easily back into the dispenser when the lid is set back down.The dispenser is about 10.5 inches tall from the base to the top of the knob.

The bottom silver-colored cup that holds the bottoms of the straws was a little crooked, but that was easily remedied by just lifting the whole inner unit out of the acrylic tube and screwing the bottom on better (it's attached to the stem, which is riveted like a screw at the bottom, with an ordinary nut).

After seeing and using this first-hand, I've decided maybe it was worth what I paid.Maybe.

Nylon Pan Scrapers (Set of 2) Review

I got a set of these a few years ago and use them regularly.They are very sturdy and the thick rounded end allows you to use a lot of pressure without hurting your hands.I have used them with teflon coated cookie sheets and skillets, and the shape allows me to get into corners without any problem.The scrapers have lasted me a few years now without getting any knicks in them and without scratching any of my cookware.I was surprised to see Amazon's suggestion to use one for scraping ice off the car, I do not think I would recommend them for that use.Their size is very handy for pots and pans, but VERY narrow for using on a car windshield, and you don't have the same type of leverage as an ice scraper made for that purpose.

Norpro 11 Inch Small Spatula, Red Review

I love the look of this spatula and I love the feel of the handle in my hand. It has a great ergonomic design and it's very easy to hold on to. What I don't like about the spatula is the same thing that a previous reviewer liked a lot so it's easy to see this spatula could be very good for some people and not so good for others. It just depends on what you want a spatula to do.

The rubber end of the spatula is just too hard for my personal preference. It's difficult to get it to scrape up anything in the bottom of a bowl because it has no "give." I like a spatula to be able to moosh a bit so I can get every last bit out of a bowl. With this spatula that's just about impossible.

The other reason I give this a two-star rating (and that's being generous) is that the rubber end came off the first time I used the spatula. It continues to come off in use and when being washed.

This cutting board is great except for two things: the basket isn't very durable and the brackets on the sides are not "rubberized" to prevent sliding. Trust me, you don't want the board to shift mid-slice. There are other boards that have the non-slip sides but I haven't found one with a basket this large.

I LOVE Tupperware's vent n serve (formerly heat n serve) containers. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes so there is a container for your every cooking/storing need.

They are microwave safe so they don't get ruined (LOOK GROSS) after using them multiple times. They also have neat little red things (vents?) that you can pull out so the closed container doesn't "explode" like it does with cheap imitation Tupperware.
