Norpro Steamer Review

We've been using the Norpro 8 inch steamer two or two times a week since we received it several months ago.It works very well.It makes steaming vegetables a much more streamlined affair:we cut up the veggies, toss them in the steamer basket, rinse them, then drop the steamer into the pot of water, cover and cook.The handle makes it so easy to move it in and out of the pot and the bonus is that it is SO much easier to clean than the traditional aluminum steamer basket I've used since I was a kid.We live in an ancient house in New Orleans with no dishwasher, so cleaning the little flaps on the aluminum one took as long as washing an entire load of dishes.This steamer is ridiculously easy to clean.

The only thing we've noticed is that the color has faded very quickly making it look somewhat dingy and it's showing signs of wear where it folds up.I'm okay with the color and the wear as long as it doesn't start tearing at the wear spots.I'll update this review if that happens.

Bottom line: we love it, but we are afraid it may not last like a metal one.
