Progressive International Microwavable Breakfast Sandwich Maker Review

First of all, the sandwich I just made was super delicious -- second to no chain restaurant's breakfast sandwich. I didn't really know how to make the sandwich because I had never microwaved eggs or bacon. So, I guessed that 2 minutes would be a good amount of time. Turned out perfect. Clean up was much easier than other reviews say. I always clean up before I eat so the bacon juice hadn't solidified -- maybe that's why.

I highly recommend this product to someone looking to start the day right without going to a fatty fast food restaurant like McDonald's. You'll feel great about making your own breakfast, you'll save money, and you'll consume less calories. It's a no-brainer.

Below is how I made my sandwich. I didn't notice many people sharing their routine so I will...

1. Whisked 1 large egg, pepper, salt, and fat free milk
2. Put 1.5 pieces of bacon on top of a paper towel in the sandwich maker
3. Poured the whisked egg into one egg compartment
4. Set the microwave to 2 minutes and started cooking
5. Put muffin in the toaster after 30 seconds or so of the eggs and bacon cooking
6. Placed a slice of cheese, then egg, then bacon in between the muffin
7. Microwaved everything together for 10 seconds
8. Cleaned up for a minute and let the sandwich cool a little
9. Feasted on a delicious breakfast sandwich

The actual cooking time only took about 3 minutes. Total time with preparation and clean up was around 7 minutes.

Progressive International Microwavable Egg Poacher Review

I eat a breakfast sandwich every single morning and it calls for a poached egg.I bought this one because it was inexpensive and I wasn't entirely sure if I would make that many breakfast sandwiches.Well 2 yrs later I am looking for one that makes more than 2 eggs at a time, but unless you use this as much as I do it will likely be more than sufficient.

It can hold any size egg and it's best to make 2 at a time.Eggs have a tendancy to explode unless you stop them 2/3 of the way through and poke at them with a fork a bit.Clean-up is a pain in the behind and putting it in the dishwasher only leaves you with stuck-on cooked egg.However it's easy to store, does the job and you have perfectly poached eggs in 2+ minutes.I am giving 5 stars because I have more than gotten my monies worth and it does make nice, evenly cooked eggs.

purchased this item after looking at several reviews, makes hard boiled eggs like a dream, i set my microwave at eight minutes on high, and four eggs at a time are done to perfection. just one word of caution, very hot plastic for several minute after the microwaving is finished, with a significant amount of water remaining in the container that is very hot. The device also doesn't click closed, just fits on the bottom half so you must be careful moving this around, and it is quite easy to spill the hot water all over the place, wouldn't use it around a small child.

Trudeau Microwave Double Egg Poacher Review

This is a great product and works well in the Microwave.BUT... please use caution.I got a pretty good burn thismorning.It would have been worse except that I had let theegg sit for 2-3 minutes.I cooked the egg in the microwave 1:15 which is a about right for one egg.It looked good, just about right.Put it between two slices of toast.Half way though the sandwich, it "exploded."Apparently a steam pocket had built up in the yolk, and when I bit into it -- bam.It made enough noise to get my wife's attention across the kitchen.My face still hurts 12 hours later.If it had happened right after cooking, I suspect it would have been much worse.

Boiley Microwave Egg Boiler Review

I purchased this at a gourmet cooking shop. It worked perfectly. I wanted my egg cooked a little more so I increased the time for a hard boiled egg from 5 minutes to 6 1/2. It was perfect! It's a little tricky seeing the water line because the egg has to be in (because of water displacement) but once you get the feel for that, it works great.

I bought two of these in a kitchen speciality store after the staff there raved about it.I was very delighted to find it really, really works!

The kitchen store staff had some tips about how to perfect the process:1.) FIRST, put about 1 tsp. of butter in the pot with a small amount of vegies. (Wet vegies, such as tomatoes don't work as well. Green onions and peppers are great choices.)2.) Microwave your butter and vegies for about 30-40 seconds.3.) Break your two eggs in the pot, stir in salt and pepper, and add chesse...microwave for 40-50 seconds.4.) Scrape down sides and microwave again for 40-50 seconds.5.) Wait for 2 minutes to finish cooking - then eat.

The omelets are nice and fluffy and ready in less than 5 minutes.The convenient size of the pot is beneficial to travelers.My son is putting it in his luggage while he Couch Surfs across the U.S.

I found these online for $7.95 and will be buying six or seven to give as future gifts.

Nordic Ware Microwave 12 Piece Cookware Set Review

I recently purshased this set and have had real problems trying to get the lids to 'snap' on.

The majority of the lids alMOST fit, which is somewhat frustrating in itself.I've tried pressing, pushing, popping, and even putting all my weight on the lids without success.Swearing didn't help the lids fit any better, either.No surprise...it seldom does.I even tried pliers to try to snap the lid on the oval piece.Only succeeded in breaking the lid.The aforementioned swearing rapidly graduated to cursing, although no hair cuttings, nail clippings, hatpin-stuck small dolls, nor sacrificial small animals were involved.And, the lid STILL didn't pop onto the cookware.

You just have to marvel at how the lids can come sooooo CLOSE to fitting...but, just absolutely refuse to go that extra hair's width to make the seal.

NordicWare....WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THOSE LIDS???!!!!

The lid issue aside, I've used the cookware frequently for storing leftovers in the fridge and for microwave reheating of same, and the cookware works fine.It cleans up well, and it looks nice.

There, I've said something positive.

But, again...NordicWare....WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THOSE LIDS???!!!!

Nordic Ware Microwave 2 Cavity Egg Poacher Review

I gave it 4 stars because:

(1) The instructions aren't on the product itself.

(2) I still prefer poached eggs on the stove.

However, perhaps this will help those of you struggling with why the darn thing won't work for YOU:

(1) Most instructions are written for 700 watt microwaves.

(2) Your microwave is likely not 700 watts if your results are bad. (Assuming you follow the other instructions re water, piercing the yolk, etc.)

(3) If you don't know the wattage of your oven, use this chart -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/Wattage.html -- and a cup of water to determine your wattage.

(4) Once you have your wattage, use this chart -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/ChartsFrom700.html -- and select YOUR oven's wattage then go to that chart to determine the correct cooking time for you.

For example, my oven is 1100 watts (I cheated and looked at the manual, but I should boil water now and again in case it changes):

Step 1 -- I go to the chart for 1100 watt conversion from 700 watt here -- http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/Chart1100.html.

Step 2 -- On the packaging AND on the company website for this product, they say that two eggs should be 1 minute 15 seconds.I look for 1 minute 15 seconds and find that I should actually cook them in MY microwave for 48 seconds.

Step 3 -- I follow the rest of the instructions (1/2 teaspoon of water per egg, pierce the yolk once, close the device firmly, leave it shut for at least 30 seconds or more afterward so the whites will cook completely), then voila, perfect poached eggs (except, yes, the bottoms are rounded).

My microwave has a rotating glass plate, so your results may vary unless you have one of those or you invest in one of the micro-go-round type products.I suspect that is what makes both eggs cook evenly.

Hope that helps.Heck, for $2.00, this little thing works like a charm.

Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Cooker Review

It works great, and it's small (6" high, 5" diameter) and easy to use. May require some experimentation to get times correct for your own microwave. For me: 7 minutes for soft, 8 min for medium, and 9-10 min for hard eggs on high power (700W microwave).

It does get very hot, so you need to remove it from the microwave with a potholder or towel. I place the whole thing under the cold tap, then remove the top, and cool the eggs under running water for a minute before peeling.
