Norpro 5 1/2-Inch Stainless Steel Funnel with Detachable Strainer Review

Norpro 5 1/2 inch Stainless Steel Funnel with Detachable StrainerWhen it arrived I thought to myself that the filter holes look a bit larger than expected.Upon first use the filter is only good for large particles.Grit and bits of things like floured coatings slipped through.I ended up using a couple layers of cheese cloth instead.

One other "nit" to pick.Because of the design, when inserted into a largish container openning, there is little to no room for air to escape so I had to lift the funnela little to let the air out.Laddling 4-5 liters of oil one handed was messy at best.

All in all my $2 large plastic funnel and cheese cloth performed better for my needs.

Nordic Ware Microwave Egg Cooker Review

Nordic Ware Microwave Egg CookerIt works great, and it's small (6" high, 5" diameter) and easy to use. May require some experimentation to get times correct for your own microwave. For me: 7 minutes for soft, 8 min for medium, and 9-10 min for hard eggs on high power (700W microwave).

It does get very hot, so you need to remove it from the microwave with a potholder or towel. I place the whole thing under the cold tap, then remove the top, and cool the eggs under running water for a minute before peeling.
