The KitchenAid can opener is actually the best can opener I have used/owned. If you mutilated your hand, then it's probably your technique. No can opener has a mind of its own.The peeler is also good. I also have the KitchenAid pizza cutter and ice cream scoop, which are great as well. The pizza cutter cuts amazingly well. The other tools - spatula, basting spoon, tongs - are ginormous compared to my small hands so it's difficult to handle the weight.
