This is the worst product I have ever purchased from Panasonic.The first one came very damaged, the foam packing was in many pieces.It worked fine for four (4) days and burned up in huge puff of black smoke.Amazon replaced in promptly. the second unit lasted 18 days before it burned up.Amazon took both units back and credited my account in a timely manner.This product to say the least was a major disappointment.In the past, Panasonic has always been premium quality.

My wife owned the same microwave but smaller,1CU FT when we married, she moved in with me and we stored hers in the basement for a year until we got a much bigger place.We started using hers which had more CU FT than the one I had, since we had lots of counter space.I noticed the door stuck and you had to constantly push the button for it to open, but I wrote it off as sitting in the basement for a year and getting mishandled by the movers.The thing lasted about a year and a half into till it died, my wife had owned it for quiet some time as it had been past to her by her mother.

The microwave did a decent job cooking, it wasn't great but none are.I wanted a bigger one this time so we went from the 1 CU. FT to the 2 CU FT.For the money, size and features Sharp was at the top of my list and I decided to stay with the brand.

I was pleased with the features, the sensors seemed to be off a little and the food came out cold which is fine, I would rather cook it a bit more than have the food fried.

About two months into owning the machine the door began to lock up on me just as the old one.Turns out I was wrong and it is a design flaw with the microwave.I mentioned it to my wife who clearly has stated in the past she wants nothing to do with any appliance purchases, she told me that the old one did the same thing from the time she got it, that's why her mom gave it to her.I explained to her that it would of been nice to know that prior to buying the same model.

It was my mistake for not doing my homework, so hopefully I can give you a heads up.The microwave runs fine and has lots of nice features, the major flaw is you have to continue to push the button, up to five or six times before the lock disengages.What good are fancy features if you can't open the door?

Their are a lot of nice microwaves out there with just as good features, which have doors that open with the first push of a button or pull of a handle.Be smart and choose one of them.

Sharp R-308KK 1-Cubic-Foot 1100-Watt Microwave Oven, Black Review

This Sharp microwave oven, with 1 c.f. of total capacity and about 0.8 c.f. of usable capacity (according to Consumer Reports), is a great performer.It heats food quickly and for the most part evenly.The turntable turns automatically and alternates between clockwise and counterclosewise turns.There's a lightbulb inside that lights up when you open the door or when the microwave is operating.The heat output is rated at 1100W, which is usually the power assumed by most microwave heating instructions on food packages - a great convenience.

There was a story I read a few years ago that looked into microwave oven safety, and Sharp came out ahead.So I feel confidend that this microwave oven, assembled in Thailand, should also be one of the safest.Of course, you should keep at least 7 inches away from the oven when its magnetron is generating microwaves, just to be totally safe.One guy complained about the "loud" door; yes, but it's designed to be safe.I'd never trade safety for a flimsy, "easier" door.

The LCD display is always backlit (in green), which is really nice, esp. if you, like I, use the LCD as a clock and also as a timer.(Clock is am-pm-agnostic 12-hour type, while timer has a maximum countdown of 99:99.)The Minute Plus feature is extremely convenience.The keys beep when you press them, but the beep and that "cooking finished" long beep can be turned off easily.You can also invoke a "safe" mode so that the buttons don't work, kind of like a "hold" feature on audio players -- great for families with kids who like to fiddle with appliances.

My only complaint is, like all Asian electronics companies, Sharp pays little attention to the user-friendliness of the unit.The keys all look the same and are about the same size.While they are responsive, sometimes you need to hunt for the keys you want to press.The End and Start keys, in particular, should have been made to stand out.Also, unlike many other Sharp models, this one requires you to press the Power button multiple times instead of just pressing a numeric button to specify a power level.Finally, the reheat/cook button works ridiculously complicated.All these anti-user features detract a full star from an otherwise really excellent appliance.

The all-black finish looks great and the oven fits well under most kitchen cabinets.I do recommend this oven despite the ergonomic issues mentioned above.For me, Sharp microwave ovens' reliability reputation, safety record and Minute Plus convenience are reason enough to recommend them highly.

We reciever this microwave quickly.My microwave died after 35 yrs. and I was so happy it arrived fast.It is easy to operate and the instructions are very easy to follow.I really like all the features and the pre-set settings are very accurate.The 4 defrost settings are a real treat to me.The demenions are accurate but I didn't realize the wall plug was large so this microwave sticks out 2 inches more in front beyond my shelf edge.My old microwave's plug laid flat against the wall.I am getting use to this and it in no way affects the performance of the product.If I had known it would take up another 2 inches in deepth beyond the listed deminsions I would have purchased a smaller unit so it would fit my space better.

Sharp R-420LK Family Size Countertop Microwave Review

This is my 3rd Sharp Carousel microwave oven. The first one was a combinationmicrowave/convection oven. After about 10 years, the knobs broke and I used that as an excuse to buy a replacement (the original still works). The replacement I bought next was a digital model in most respects similar to this one. Again, it lasted about 10 years before developing some rust spots along the chamber seams. Again, although it still works, I saw this as a potential fire hazard and replaced it with one as similar as I could. buy.

At 1.4 cu.ft., it's big enough for just about any use we (family of 6) have for it. With 1100 watts on tap, it cooks very quickly so I usually have to adjust cooking times down from what's recommended. No matter, though, Sharp's Sensor Reheat works extremely well on leftovers or just heating canned goods. It does all the usual things, like popping popcorn, effortlessly.

The only thing that's changed significantly since I bought my last one a decade ago is that the price has gone down! I really love this microwave and wouldn't consider buying anything other than a Sharp Carousel in the future.

This Microwave oven gets my highest rating even though Amazon only allows for five stars the oven is extremely fast and has the largest capacity for the price, also the quietest microwave oven I have ever heard or owned, I am amazed at the speed of cooking and reheating it can do and Amazon has the best and lowest price of any website I researched on, oven has a clock which was not stated on the description on the amazon page where it is located on there is however downfall to this microwave oven which I was very surprised to have witnessed for such an innovator of this type of oven they are known for their carousel that it did not have a luud beep when the oven is finished cooking or reheating you really have to be in a room that is very quiet to hear this beeping sound for when the oven is finished but all in all great oven great price and lots of cooking and reheating settings and loads of interior space, I was even able to put a Visions cookware pot in there without damaging the sides of the oven while the turntable is in motion which I thought I would not be able to do prior to receiving the oven I did have a concern that I would not be able to use this particular pot in there because of damage it could cause but I was pleasantly surprieed I was able to put it in this oven If you own a lower wattage microwave oven and you purchase this one you will also need to adjust your times by at least half the amount you already use on your current oven, I also love the minute plus setting, if you make a mistake in your time you can press this button to add one more extra minute everytime until you reach the desired time, it is very handy if you are not sure just how much more time you need with your cooking and don't want to have to go all through the steps again to reset and start over this button is so easy just one press and you get an extra minute I completely recommend this Microwave oven ot everyone, I just hope it last twenty years like my old Amana microwave did

Panasonic NN-SN667B 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot 1300-Watt Microwave Oven, Black Review

This replaced a similar sized Panasonic microwave oven that had a problem with the door button getting stuck or popping out. So far it seems to work very well. It's quieter than the previous mmodel and a little smaller for outside dimensions while the interior capacuty is the same as the old model. The inverter technology seems to work well for defrosting, much better than previous microwaves I've owned,and the sensor reheat and cook work very well also. My only complaint is that to use the sensor cook you key in a number from 1-9, but nowhere in the instructions does it explain what number corresponds to what type of food you are cooking. There are less expensive microwaves out there with similar features except for the inverter technolgy, but in my opinion it's worth the extra.

Panasonic NN-H765BF Full-Size 1.6-Cubic-Feet 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Black Review

After having my first microwave for about 18 years, it finally died and I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this Panasonic. Having Amazon gift certificates, free shipping and a $25 kitchen and housewares discount influenced my decision and I have to say it was a great buy.I'm very pleased with the evenness with which it cooks and defrosts.

I upgraded from a mid-size 650-watt oven to this full-size 1250-watt oven.I have to remind myself sometimes that everything needs less time to cook.However, there are a lot of pre-programmed features in this unit that make it easier.For example, there is a sensor cook button that selects the time and power level for different kinds of foods depending on how many times you tap the button.Types of food include baked potatoes, frozen pizza, frozen entrees, fresh vegetables, frozen vegetables and omelettes.I made a baked potato last night that was cooked perfectly.There is also a separate popcorn button (you can select from 3 different bag sizes) that also worked perfectly.A More/Less button lets you add or subtract time to the sensor and popcorn settings.

There are a number of different functions you can select or turn on and off.Some of the functions include language (English, French or Spanish), a choice of pounds or kilos, child lock, reminder beep (I turned that off because unlike my old oven which beeped every minute, this one beeps every 15 seconds which was annoying) and menu action which when turned on guides you through each step of cooking.There is also a demo mode which is meant for retail displays but you can see how everything works without actually cooking anything.

Some other useful features are delayed start where you can use the timer to set the oven to start cooking at a later time and a keep warm setting if you won't be taking your food out of the oven immediately.A Quick Min button lets you select 1-9 minutes simply by tapping the button the appropriate number of times.

If you purchase this, I would suggest going through the owner's manual a couple of times.I went through it once before I used the oven.A couple of days later I went through it again and discovered that I had overlooked some shortcuts.

The only down side for me with this oven is losing some more counter space in a small kitchen.Keep that in mind if you don't already have a full-size oven.

UPDATE:It is now 2010 and I realized I have been using this oven for 3 1/2 years and I still love it!I do a lot of actual cooking in it too, not just reheating, popcorn, etc.

I bought this Microwave to replace an older Sharp model. I have had very good luck with Sharp Microwaves and this new one is no different. It's a very good compact microwave for one or two people. It was very easy to set the clock and use right out of the box. I love the look of it. The buttons are very simple to use. I don't use my microwave for cooking that much, I use it mostly for reheating and defrosting. I am a single mom with one teenage son who never eats at the same time as I do so it comes in very handy. I do sometimes cook bacon and pototoes in it. It makes great baked potatoes. It you have more than two people in your family you might want to get a larger oven. I have been using Sharp microwaves for many, many years, they make a great product. I highly recommend this model and all Sharps for that matter.
